Wine Bottle Bird Feeder

At Bogle Family Vineyards, we take sustainability seriously, but after you buy the bottle, the ball is in your court. While we always hope you will recycle your bottle after enjoyment, finding ways to reuse the bottle is an even better use of resources! Keep reading to find out how we reused a Bogle wine bottle to make a beautiful wine bottle bird feeder!

SUPPLIES

  • Empty Bogle wine bottle
  • 6-gauge wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Soda bottle feeder attachment
  • Birdseed (we used black oil sunflower seeds)
    • Look up what best, safest birdseed to use for your area. Check out the Audubon Society for other information and tips for feeding backyard birds!

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1. Twist the wire with your hands around the bottle (use may want to use pliers to get it started), starting from the top of the bottle.

Step 2. When you reach the bottom of the bottle, wind the wire into a large spiral or hook, and cut off the excess wire.

Step 3. Fill bottle with birdseed.

Step 4. Screw on soda bottle feeder attachment.

  • If wine bottle was cork and not screw top, attach feeder with glue.

Step 5. Hang on a branch or shepherd hook.

Now pour yourself a glass of wine and find the perfect spot to relax and view your new wine bottle bird feeder!

Cheers!
