Celebrating Our Golden Anniversary: 50 Years and Counting

Fifty years ago, our grandfather, Warren Bogle, took a chance and planted 20 acres of Chenin Blanc and Petite Sirah here on our Home Ranch in Clarksburg. He could never have imagined that those first fields would grow into a company with wines sold in all 50 states and spanning 36 countries worldwide. We are sure he would be filled with gratitude and pride, as are we. And none of it would be possible without your support.

We are grateful to you who has a hand in getting the grapes to the glass: vineyard crews, cellar workers, salespeople, shelf stockers.

We are grateful to those who belly up to the bar with a glass of our wine while you catch up with friends.

We are grateful to you who pop a bottle as you watch the sun set over the ocean.

To you, for this, and so much more, thank you for supporting us each and every day.

Changes Coming Soon to the Tasting Room

Our tasting room sure has changed since its opening in 1998! From simple folding tables covered with burlap, to the wood-paneled barrel room, wine tasting at Bogle has grown up a bit. And if you’ve been out to the winery on a weekend lately, you know the number of guests we serve has changed exponentially as well.

As we continue to strive to provide the best possible wine tasting experience for our guests, Bogle will begin applying a tasting charge beginning Thursday, February 1^st. The $8 charge will include up to eight varied wines to taste, as well as a commemorative wine glass.

Tasting for wine club members and up to three of their guests remains complimentary.

The fee for groups of 8-20 people will increase to $8 per person as well, and will continue to require reservations made in advance to ensure that our staff can properly prepare for your group’s arrival.

Groups of more than 20 guests will need to contact the winery to arrange their tasting prior to arrival.  With a dedicated staff member for groups this large, the fee is $20 per person and a special space will be provided for guests to taste through the wines together.

On our Delta Lawn and Vineyard Patio, tables for picnicking are available on a first come-first served basis.  Please note that our tables cannot be combined to accommodate groups larger than eight.  Please contact our staff to inquire about picnicking for larger groups.

For the safety and comfort of all our guests, our tasting room and Vineyard Patio are now adult-only spaces.  However, we continue to be a family-friendly winery, with children welcome on our lawn area, with direct adult supervision.

A Golden New Year: Your Favorite Bogle Wines Hit it Big!

We may only be three weeks into the new year, but our wines have already been showing well!

Wine Enthusiast Magazine has named our 2014 Phantom Red Blend an “Editor’s Choice” scoring 90pts. The popular blend of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot is always a fan favorite when it is released in the fall, and we are very pleased that the Enthusiast enjoyed it this year as well.

Results have also been released for the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and five of our wines brought home the GOLD!

Our Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc were among the Gold winners, while our Phantom scored a DOUBLE GOLD and our Old Vine Zinfandel ranked GOLD and BEST OF CLASS.

Not to be left out, four more wines took SILVER: our Chardonnay, Essential Red, Petite Sirah and Pinot Noir.

And what’s best of all, all of these wines are available at your local wine shop or retailer nationwide!

With over 7,000 wines entered and judged from 36 states, we are proud that our wines showed so well.  Congratulations to Bogle winemakers for all their efforts to consistently produce quality wines!
