Provolone and Steak Pizza with Balsamic Honey Caramelized Onions, Blue Cheese, Fresno Chilies and Arugula by Jamie H.

Ingredients

Pizza dough – homemade or store-bought

Honey Balsamic Caramelized Onions
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 medium onion, sliced thin
¼ cup of water
¼ tsp of salt
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup of provolone cheese, grated or sliced
4 oz steak, sliced in ¼ inch strips
1 fresno chili, optional
½ cup of blue cheese, divided
¼ cup of arugula

Cooking Instructions

Heat pan to medium-low. Add 1 tbsp olive oil, sliced onions with 1 tbsp of honey and 1 tbsp of balsamic. Spread onions out evenly over the pan and cook for 40-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add ¼ cup of water to deglaze the pan and ¼ tsp of salt. Remove from heat. These can be made ahead of time.

Preheat the oven to 425. Roll out pizza dough onto a greased baking sheet. Mix olive oil with minced garlic and spread over dough. Add provolone cheese and then caramelized onions. Optional: Add thinly sliced fresno chili for some heat. Place steak strips onto the pizza and top with ¼ cup of blue cheese. Bake for 14-18 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.

Remove pizza from the oven and add the remaining blue cheese and arugula. Slice and enjoy!
