Bogle Petite Sirah Port

  • 1 pie crust, either store bought or homemade (we won’t tell!)
  • 3 cups ripe Bartlett pears, coarsely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 T. all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter

Cooking Instructions

  • Prepare pie crust according to your directions for a one crust, fruit-filled pie.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the pears, egg, vanilla, 1 tsp. flour, sugar and sour cream.
  • Pour into the cooled pie shell.
  • In another mixing bowl, combine topping ingredients, blending with a fork or pastry blender until coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle evenly over the filling.
  • Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 40-50 minutes or until top is light golden brown. Check frequently, and if topping appears to be getting too brown, cover with foil.
  • Cool 30 minutes before serving! And of course, it must be a la mode! Try a glass of our Blanc de Blancs, Petite Sirah Port or our off-dry Gewürtztraminer with this one…
