4 slices whole wheat sourdough bread, or ciabatta bread
1 large pear, ripe and juicy
4 slices deli ham
1 4oz brie wedge
2 T. mayonnaise
1 T. Dijon mustard
2 T. butter
If you have a Panini press, heat to medium high heat. (If you don’t have a press, heat a grill pan over medium heat.)
Butter the outside of the four bread slices. On the inside, spread the mayonnaise and mustard.
Assemble each sandwich: a layer of pear, ham, cheese, then place in the press.
Allow to cook until the cheese is melty and the pears and ham are heated through. You should have good press marks on each sandwich. (If using the stove top, place a second pan or heavy plate over the top of the sandwich to press it down into the grill. After about 3-4 minutes, flip and do the same on the other side.)
Remove from heat and allow to cool for about 5 minutes. Using a sharp knife, cut each sandwich on the bias.
