Grilled Lemon Pepper Wings

Ingredients

For wings:
2 T. olive oil, plus more for brushing grill
3 lb. chicken wings, drumettes and flats
Sea salt & pepper, to taste
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 T. lemon pepper seasoning
1 lemon, zested
2 tsp. minced fresh thyme or parsley
2 cloves garlic, finely grated

For sauce and serving:
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
2 T. chopped fresh parsley
1 T. chopped fresh dill
1/2 lemon, zested and juiced
2 cloves garlic, finely grated
4 stalks celery, cut into sticks
3 medium carrots, cut into sticks

Cooking Instructions

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Ready in: 35 minutes

Serves: 6

  • For wings: Heat a grill to medium heat and brush grates with oil. In a large bowl, toss wings and oil together until coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Grill wings, flipping every 5 minutes, until golden brown or until a meat thermometer reads 175°F, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix butter, lemon pepper seasoning, lemon zest, thyme, and garlic together until combined. Add wings and toss to coat.
  • For sauce and serving: In a medium serving bowl, combine buttermilk, sour cream, parsley, dill, lemon zest, lemon juice and garlic. Serve wings with celery, carrots and sauce.
