Wine Cork Garden Markers
While it’s easy to know you should recycle your wine bottle once finished, sometimes it’s hard to know what to do with the wine cork. The truth is, wine corks are better reused than recycled. We love using fresh herbs and vegetables in our recipes, on our charcuterie boards, and as garnish on our cocktails! One of our go-to favorite crafts is making garden markers – they are so easy and fun to make and work perfectly as an outdoor, garden safe accessory!
SUPPLIES
- 6 wine corks, depending on the number of herbs or plants in your garden
- 6 inch wooden or metal appetizer skewers
- Cordless drill (optional)
- Sharpie
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. Hand script the name of your garden plants on the cork.
Step 2. Drill a hole into the bottom of your wine cork. Insert the skewer (alternatively, you can skewer your cork with the sharp end and push in for desired depth).
Step 3. Place them around your garden!
When the script wears off or the cork needs to be replaced, put the old wine corks with your yard scraps into your green waste bin to get composted!
